CONCEPT ONE
The first KEY concept is to understand that in most courses there is an ambiguous distinction between the first two vocabulary words, vision and mission. In this course we talk about a very important difference between these two words.
Vision vs Mission
The vision of an organization is a strategic outline of how it will structurally and functionally operate to competitively position itself among similar organizations in order to achieve its long-term aspirational goals. Vision articulates what it wants to look like organizationally as it navigates toward such desirable future outcomes.
In contrast, the mission oriented project of an organization is defined by a short to medium-term timeline which is dedicated to achieving a core value-added purpose or objective. It provides a clear focus for the company's operational decision-making.
Together, a strong aspirational vision and a tangibly measurable mission outcome guide the strategic business planning process, ensuring that all efforts align with both future goals and related current objectives.
Business Mindset
Business mindset refers to the recognition of and willingness to engage in a hierarchy of business processes: starting with Strategic Planning and Positioning, then providing needed Logistic Supports and finally, Tactical Implementation of aspirational goals through Value-added Activities
